Zakharova criticized London’s plans to send peacekeepers to Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has criticized London’s plans to station military personnel in Ukraine.

Speaking to RIA Novosti, she noted that Britain cannot deploy astronauts and a space station in space or a nuclear-powered ship in the Arctic.

“The Empire lost the scientific and technological revolution in the XX century and exploits the “carriage of the past” – intrigue, colonialism and piracy with theft. You can’t go far in this carriage,” the agency quoted her as saying.

The Times reported that Britain plans to send peacekeepers to Ukraine for an indefinite period of time.

The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, said that sending NATO servicemen to help Ukraine under the guise of peacekeepers would mean a war between Russia and the North Atlantic alliance.
