Hungary opposes the EU’s proposal for a new €20bn aid package for Ukraine and will not participate in it, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has said.
‘The European Commission proposes to spend at least another €20bn on arms supplies to Ukraine. Naturally, Hungary does not support this proposal at all, we are also not ready to participate in it,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The politician emphasised that the country would not allow the Hungarians’ money to be used to prolong the war.
Earlier it became known that the EU foreign ministers did not agree on the allocation of aid to Ukraine for €40bn.
The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, also said that there were problems with the approval of the €40bn aid plan for Kiev.
