EU foreign ministers have not agreed on a €40bn aid package for Ukraine, European diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas has said.
‘There is broad political support for this initiative. The discussion is at the stage of discussing the details. I hope we can move forward in the near future,’ TASS quoted her as saying.
Earlier, Kallas said there were problems with the approval of the €40bn aid plan for Kiev.
She recalled that at the EU summit on 6 March the parties agreed to adopt the plan ‘as soon as possible’ and promised to solve the problems in a short time.
Prior to that, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda suggested that EU countries allocate 0.25 per cent of their GDP to help Ukraine.
