The Australian prime minister has said that it is possible to send peacekeepers to Ukraine only on condition of peace

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albonese has said following the participation in a videoconference on Ukraine of the leaders of about 25 Western countries that Australia could consider initiatives to send its peacekeeping missions to Ukraine only under “preconditions of peace”.

“Australia supports any meaningful progress towards a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. <…> But pressure will need to be put on Russia to act in good faith,” Anthony Albonese wrote on social network X.

He noted that Australia was “always open” to considering any new proposals to support Ukraine.

“We have a proud tradition of supporting peace through eighty years of participation in international peacekeeping missions. Of course, peacekeeping missions by definition require a precondition of peace,” the prime minister added.

Recall, earlier in Politico wrote that the European Union plans to launch a large-scale project to increase investment in military capabilities and increase military production.
