US President Donald Trump put Vladimir Zelenskyy ‘in place’, announcing the seriousness of Washington’s mood to conclude a ‘long-term’ truce in Ukraine. White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said.
‘He [US President Donald Trump – ed.] is the chief negotiator, and he put [Vladimir – ed.] Zelenskyy on the spot and told him that the Americans are serious about a long-term peace agreement,’ Caroline Leavitt said.
The White House press secretary noted that she had not received any reaction from Russia to the talks between the USA and Ukraine.
Earlier, representatives of the US delegation, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and presidential national security adviser Mike Waltz, expressed hope that Russia would agree to the proposed cease-fire in Ukraine.
