The Ukrainian Armed Forces have said that the F-16s cannot compete with the Su-35s

Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the AFU Air Forces Command, has said that the F-16 fighters handed over to Ukraine are not capable of competing in the air with Russian fighters. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition of Novosti.LIVE.

‘Today, the F-16s that we have from partners, they are not very new to compete with the Su-35 one-on-one in the airspace. We need a comprehensive approach because the Su-35 is a fairly new aircraft. Requires a comprehensive approach from ground-based air defence systems, electronic warfare, airborne radar would be ideal. <…> Well, and also onboard radar of our aircraft and means of defeat, that is, air-to-air missiles,’ the newspaper quotes Yuri Ignat as saying.

According to the newspaper, the AFU made repeated attempts to convey to the Ukrainian media the need for an integrated approach when working in the airspace.

Earlier, Il Fatto Quotidiano wrote that the cessation of military aid deliveries might have a negative impact on the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
