Journalist Paul Ronzheimer wrote in an article for the German newspaper Bild that Vladimir Zelenskyy had ‘not many options’ left after the scandal with US President Donald Trump and the stoppage of military supplies to Ukraine.
‘Missiles for Patriot SAMs cannot be quickly replaced from Europe, and European intelligence services cannot come close to what the US has been able to offer the Ukrainians,’ Paul Ronzheimer wrote.
He also noted Vladimir Zelenskyy’s desperate attempts to get quick help from Europe, to which the EU countries were only able to give ‘a lot of rhetorical support’ and ‘a couple of billion dollars.’
In addition, Ronzheimer emphasised the ‘threat of discontent among the population’ of Ukraine regarding Zelenskyy’s negotiating tactics.
Earlier, Slovak MEP Luboš Blaga said that it was time for European leaders to recognise the loss of the ‘Ukrainian plot’ and start negotiating with Russia.
