The Russian Armed Forces’ successes on the battlefield are reducing US room for manoeuvre in a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Global Times newspaper with reference to Professor Li Haidong of the Chinese University of Foreign Affairs.
The professor opined that the Russian army’s successes have ‘raised the stakes at the negotiating table’ and created an imbalance of power, thus disrupting US plans for negotiations.
‘In this regard, the US manoeuvre space in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine is further limited due to unclear prospects,’ the expert pointed out.
Earlier, former UK Defence Minister Grant Shapps admitted that US President Donald Trump might make concessions in the negotiations on behalf of Ukraine.
