NYT: experts have proposed a plan for a ceasefire in Ukraine

Experts of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy have suggested that a ceasefire in Ukraine could be secured by creating a buffer zone.

The New York Times (NYT) writes about it.

Specialists have proposed creating a buffer zone almost 10 kilometres wide. In their opinion, this area should be patrolled by about 5,000 people.

In addition, experts believe that the ceasefire should be monitored by observers who will act on the basis of a UN mandate. At the same time, their security should be ensured by foreign military.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban urged to settle the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible.
