U.S. Air Force combat readiness falls to new low – Defence News

The share of US Air Force aircraft ready for combat missions in 2024 is 62%. This is according to the US weekly Defense News, citing its own calculations.

According to Defence News, this level of combat readiness was “the lowest in the foreseeable past”.

The weekly noted that the Air Force’s aviation fleet has just over 5,000 aircraft. They are gradually becoming obsolete, and therefore the ability to maintain their combat capability is declining, writes the publication.

Earlier, the commander of the air defence unit in Odessa Region, Oleksiy Kovalenko, said that Ukraine would have enough air defence missiles for six months if there was no heavy shelling.
