Polish president sees no need to send peacekeepers to Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda has said that there is no need to send soldiers, particularly Polish ones, to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission. This was reported by the RAR news agency.

“I don’t see such a need. After the end of the war, I believe in strategic co-operation between Ukraine and the USA. I have a completely different concept of stabilising the situation in Ukraine after the end of the war,” Andrzej Duda said (quoted by PAP).

He also added that “if a deal” on rare-earth metals was struck between the USA and Ukraine, “Ukraine will become a strategic place for the USA”, which it “will defend”.

Just to remind you, Polish Defence Minister Vladyslav Kosyniak-Kamysh earlier said that the state ruled out the possibility of sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine.
