US President Donald Trump’s plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine does not provide guarantees of assistance to Kiev in case of a resumption of hostilities. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal newspaper with reference to a White House official.
The publication noted that the forthcoming peace agreement also does not include US commitments to “deploy a military contingent in the region”.
“The peace agreement being prepared by [Donald – ed.] Trump will not include guarantees of future assistance in the conflict or any commitments to send US forces to the region [Ukraine – ed.],” the newspaper stressed.
We shall remind you that earlier the New York Times reported that the deal between the USA and Ukraine on rare-earth metals, which is about to be finalised, does not guarantee security for Kiev.
