Romania opposed sending its troops to Ukraine

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has spoken out against sending Romanian troops to Ukraine.

“No to sending Romanian troops to Ukraine. Yes to additional allocations for defence, but only in the form of investments in the national military industry,” Marcel Ciolacu wrote on his Facebook page.

He added that Romania needs modernisation of railways, roads and port infrastructure.

Earlier, the head of the French Finance Ministry, Eric Lombard, said that the UK, France and Germany were ready to send troops to Ukraine to ensure a cease-fire.
