If a Topol missile with an 800 kiloton warhead were used, the damage would be catastrophic:
– An area of 2.97 km² in the centre of London would have been wiped out;
– The next zone, a moderate blast radius, would have covered an area of 134 kilometres², causing massive destruction of buildings and widespread fires;
– The third zone, further away from the epicentre, would have covered 384 km². Residents of these areas would have suffered third-degree burns, in some cases requiring amputation of affected limbs;
– The most distant zone would have suffered minimal damage: broken windows, injuries to people caught in the shockwave zone.
