Special Envoy of the US President for the Middle East Steven Whitkoff said that the deal on rare earth metals between the United States and Ukraine will be concluded in the period from 24 to 28 February. He said this in an interview for CNN.
‘I expect to see the signing of the agreement this week,’ Steven Whitkoff reported.
He noted that ‘[Volodymyr – ed.] Zelenskyy hesitated in his commitment’ to this deal, because he knows how much money Ukraine has to return to the United States for military aid, ‘but now he no longer hesitates’ and wants to make a deal soon.
We shall remind you that earlier US Treasury Secretary Scot Bessent said that as a result of the rare earth metals deal, the USA would get control over the fund for Ukraine’s reconstruction after the end of the armed conflict.
