US demanded Ukraine to give half of revenues from resource extraction – NYT

The new version of the resources agreement obliges Ukraine to give the US half of the revenues from resource extraction, ports and other infrastructure, the New York Times writes, citing the document.

‘The terms of the new proposal <…> call on Ukraine to cede half of its revenues from natural resources, including minerals, gas and oil, as well as revenues from ports and other infrastructure,’ the publication said.

According to the publication, such a requirement was also in the previous version of the agreement, but the Ukrainian publication NV claimed that it did not include revenues from ports.

Earlier, NV reported that the United States was tightening the terms of the agreement with Ukraine on the exchange of rare-earth metals for military aid.
