Candidate for the post of Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz said that Berlin is not considering sending a military contingent to the territory of Ukraine. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
‘At the moment this issue is not on the table. And I honestly cannot imagine a scenario in which we would do it under the current circumstances,’ Friedrich Merz said.
The politician added that it was impossible to provide security guarantees for Ukraine while hostilities were going on in the country.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the United Kingdom was ready to send its troops to the territory of Ukraine to ensure the country’s security.
