The administration of US President Donald Trump announced a large-scale reduction in the budget and staff of the Pentagon. This was reported by the Washington Post newspaper.

US Pentagon Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth has instructed the Pentagon’s top brass and the entire US Armed Forces to ‘develop plans to reduce the defence budget by 8% a year over the next five years’.
According to the newspaper, if the military budget cuts take effect, it will lead to losses of tens of billions of dollars annually.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said after a meeting with US presidential envoy for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg that the United States had no plans to reduce the number of US soldiers in Eastern Europe.
