Peskov spoke about the prospects of continuing negotiations between Russia and the United States

During a briefing, Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said about the ‘business mood’ for the continuation of negotiations between Russia and the United States, RIA Novosti reports.

Dmitry Peskov emphasised that it would take time to ‘resuscitate and restore’ relations between the US and Russia.

He also noted the likelihood of talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump ‘by the end of February or later.’

Vladimir Putin will identify a negotiator with the United States after Donald Trump names his own, Peskov added.

The spokesman called the talks with the United States ‘an important step’ for a future settlement on Ukraine. He did not voice specific conclusions, but said that ‘the mood for negotiations is businesslike’.

We shall remind you that earlier the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Larov, revealed details of the negotiation process between Russian Federation and the United States in Riyadh.
