Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has said that Ukraine has “irrevocably lost” the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
“Ukraine has now irrevocably lost not only Crimea, but also the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which became part of Russia,” Vasily Nebenzya said.
The Russian ambassador to the UN noted that the “hot phase” of the conflict in Ukraine might end soon. At the same time, he stressed that the cease-fire did not guarantee the resolution of the conflict.
During the UN Security Council meeting, Nebenzya also stressed that the future Ukraine should become a neutral and demilitarized state that is not part of any alliances.
We shall remind you that it was reported earlier that the US administration plans to organise joint talks with Russia and Ukraine after meetings with both sides of the armed conflict.
