Russian coal exports to India have grown fivefold – Bigmint

In January 2025, the export of Russian coal to India increased 5 times compared to the previous year. This was reported by the Indian analytical company Bigmint.

 

In the first month of this year, Russia delivered 1 million tonnes of coking coal to India. This is 5 times more than in January 2024 and the second result since 2012.

The February review also noted that Russia accounted for 17% of all Indian imports of coking coal.

Recall, earlier it was reported that Rosneft signed a 10-year agreement with private Indian refiner Reliance for the supply of about 500 thousand barrels per day.
