German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer has said that peace talks on the Ukrainian conflict without European participation do not make sense.
RIA Novosti reports his words.
Fischer noted that in many aspects it is up to Europe to decide how to solve problems related to sanctions, frozen assets, security guarantees.
“So I don’t see how Europe could not participate in these negotiations,” he said.
Fischer also added that Europe will be present at the talks because Ukraine wants it.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Europe intends to “pry” a truce in Ukraine for the sake of rearmament.
