Alice Weidel, candidate for chancellor of Germany from the Alternative for Germany party, believes that Berlin itself ‘spiralled the escalation spiral’ against Moscow.
She said in an interview with the Bild newspaper.
‘We opposed Russia verbally, financially and even with the help of arms supplies,’ the politician emphasised.
Earlier Weidel said that the party intends to establish good relations with Russia.
Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechayev said that in Germany there is a growing demand for normalisation of relations with Russia.
