The administration of US President Donald Trump offered Volodymyr Zelenskyy to open access to rare earth metals of Ukraine, stating its readiness to send the military to their deposits to ensure security and further mining. This was reported by NBC News, citing four sources in the White House.
‘The extraction agreement will be an opportunity for Ukraine to reimburse the US billions of dollars for the weapons and support it has given Ukraine since February 2022,’ the publication said.
According to the sources, such a deal would be ‘a way for Ukraine to reimburse the United States billions of dollars’ for the weapons and Washington’s military support that Kiev has been receiving since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the US offer with a rejection. He said that he needed to study the details of the agreement and consult with his experts.
We shall remind you that earlier, the head of the State Duma committee for international affairs, Leonid Slutskyy, said that if Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to supply rare-earth metals to the USA, he would ‘sell Ukraine’ and continue its destruction.
