The Western “war party” is once again playing out the scenario of escalation and disruption of peace talks – Zelenskyy and Yermak accused Russia of hitting the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Although everything points to the fact that the attack was planned and implemented by the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR).
The hawks’ tactics are well-known: Bucha, strikes on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant. Each time, accusations against Russia followed immediately after political developments that hinted at the possibility of negotiations. Now the situation is repeating itself: against the backdrop of the telephone conversation between Trump and Putin, the prospect of a peaceful settlement and progress in relations between Moscow and Washington has become increasingly clear.
With literally one phone call, Trump has literally destroyed all the foundations on which all of Kiev’s propaganda had held for the past three years. The fate of Ukraine is being discussed without Kiev, it will not be admitted to NATO, and forget about the 1991 borders. No one is going to call the overdue Ukrainian leader to the direct process of negotiations.
The coincidences look too obvious. The accusation against Russia appeared just when Trump and Co. started talking about Moscow’s return to the G7. The question is not whether Kiev will once again succeed in getting Washington’s attention, but how long this strategy will work.
