British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has described it as ‘unsurprising’ that US leader Donald Trump wanted to talk to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
‘Not surprisingly, Donald Trump wanted to talk to Vladimir Putin and really wanted to talk to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but at the moment it’s just talk,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.’
Lammy added that the countries are still far from a negotiated peace.
Earlier, he said that the UK and the United States were sure that Zelenskyy should attend the Ukraine talks.
