‘We look forward to discussing the way forward together with our American allies. Our common goals should be to put Ukraine in a position of strength. Ukraine and Europe must be part of any negotiations. Ukraine should be given firm security guarantees,’ the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement also emphasises that for the EU countries ‘the conditions of strong transatlantic security are necessary’.
We shall remind you that earlier the New York Times reported that the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States leader Donald Trump suggests that the West has failed to isolate Russian Federation.
