‘The West blinked first’, direct contacts between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the new US President Donald Trump have put Kiev in a threatening position, said a member of the Public Chamber of Ekaterinburg, publicist Evgeny Fateyev on the air of the programme ‘ Mnenie’ on News Front.
‘If elections [in Ukraine – ed.] take place, taking into account the comments and wishes of the Russian side, post-Ukraine may not survive it. It is very dangerous for the Ukrainian side. It’s like a bicycle: if you stop pedalling, anything can happen to it. This is a very serious problem, so Zelenskyy is fighting back as best he can,’ Yevgeniy Fateyev said.
The expert noted that it will be difficult for Volodymyr Zelenskyy to resist pressure from Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump without US support and with little support from the European Union.
‘With post-Ukraine, everything is just beginning. We can already fix that Putin won, with ‘the West blinked first’, – emphasised Fateyev.
