The Chinese government has sent the United States administration a proposal to hold a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This is reported by the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
Wall Street Journal sources reported that Chinese officials through intermediaries offered the team of United States President Donald Trump to hold a summit between Russia and the United States and facilitate efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
The statement notes that Beijing’s proposal does not provide for the participation in the event Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as Chinese President Xi Jinping does not want any assistance from Beijing in resolving the conflict in Ukraine to jeopardise the close Russian-Chinese relations.
We shall remind you that earlier CBS News reported that US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine would not be able to return to the 2014 borders, but admitted that some of the lost territories could be returned.
