Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with ITV News that if Ukraine suspends martial law – will lose the army.
Ukraine was due to hold presidential elections on March 31, 2024, but they were cancelled due to the imposition of martial law in the country.
“All our people are against elections during the war. If we suspend martial law, we will lose the army. And it is unfair to vote without the military,” Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow was ready to negotiate with Kiev without preconditions, but on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and the current situation on the front line, stressing the need for dialogue only with the legitimate leadership of the country.
