US President Donald Trump said that he had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the New York Post newspaper with reference to the White House leader.
“President [US President Donald – ed.] Trump spoke on the phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to try to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine,” the publication said.
When asked how many times Trump contacted Putin, the White House head did not answer the question.
However, the US president once again emphasised that he had a “concrete plan” to end the armed conflict in Ukraine, but did not give any details.
We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said that Moscow was ready for talks with Kiev without preconditions, but on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and the current situation on the front line, stressing the need for dialogue only with the legitimate leadership of the country.
