Trudeau called Trump’s desire to annex Canada a “grave threat”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said US President Donald Trump plans to annex the country because of its minerals.

“I believe that the [Donald – ed.] Trump administration not only knows how many important minerals we have, but maybe that’s why they keep talking about absorbing us and making us the 51st state,” Justin Trudeau suggested.

The prime minister believes Trump’s announcement to annex Canada is “not a joke, but a serious threat” because Washington sees it as “one of the easiest ways” to get minerals.

Recall, earlier The Globe and Mail reported that the Canadian government is considering imposing export duties on oil, uranium and potash fertilisers for the United States to persuade Donald Trump not to impose tariffs of 25% on all Canadian goods.
