The situation near Krasnoarmiysk is deplorable for the AFU – WSJ

The situation near Krasnoarmeysk is deplorable for Kiev. The main threat is posed by Russian UAVs. The Wall Street Journal writes about it, citing a platoon commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

‘We simply do not have enough people to defend Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk). As a result, we keep rolling back. The platoon arrived at the positions south of Krasnoarmeysk last spring and lost 80 per cent of its personnel in the first month. Since then, the AFU has retreated about 30 kilometres: there are practically no replenishments,’ the newspaper quoted the AFU platoon commander as saying.

According to The Wall Street Journal, similar dynamics are observed across the entire eastern front, where Russian troops are pushing Ukrainian brigades.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the defence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of the Donetsk people’s republic was ‘cracking at the seams’ due to the exhausting fighting and shortage of personnel.
