Ukraine will have to give up Russian-controlled territories and leave the Kursk region before a peace deal can be reached, the Asia Times says.
‘Ukraine will have to cede the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as Russian-controlled parts of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, and withdraw from the Kursk protrusion,’ the publication said.
Such a truce will become the basis for a subsequent agreement, which could be long-term if it is included in the European security structure, the author of the article said.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that Kiev would not be able to regain the territories lost during the SMO.
The Times newspaper wrote that Ukraine would have to make territorial concessions for the sake of peace.
Ukrainian military expert Dmytro Snehyryov said that the West, with the help of the mass media, was preparing Ukraine to give up the lost territories.
