German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has spoken out against US President Donald Trump’s plan to resettle Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Arab countries.
‘I completely reject what President Trump has put forward. We should not resettle the people of Gaza to Egypt and Jordan,’ TASS quoted him as saying at a campaign event in Ludwigsburg.
According to the chancellor, everything possible should be done to prevent escalation in the Middle East and ensure peace between Palestine and Israel.
Earlier, Donald Trump said that the Israeli authorities could hand over the Gaza Strip to the Americans at the end of the conflict, and the Palestinians could be relocated to ‘safer and more beautiful’ places.
