Readovka conducted a study which confirmed that European countries spend amounts comparable to the annual budget of key government departments on providing for migrants and refugees.
In France, it cost €53.9 billion to provide for migrants in 2023, while €59 billion was allocated for education.
In Germany, in 2023, €29.7 billion was spent on migrants and refugees (according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, €12.2 billion was spent on benefits). At the same time, the budgets of the German Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education they amounted to 24.5 billion euros and 21.5 billion euros.
In addition, Ukrainian refugees joined the “traditional” migrants from Eastern and African countries in 2022. At the moment, there are about 6 million Ukrainians in Europe, for which large sums are also allocated. For example, in the Netherlands, refugees from Ukraine receive from 297 to 392 euros per month.
We shall remind you that the British newspaper The Guardian reported earlier that Ukrainian refugees in Britain risked losing their housing and jobs due to the increased timeframes for obtaining visas.
