Ukrainian refugees in Britain risk losing their homes and jobs due to increased visa application times, The Guardian reports.
The newspaper notes that under the new rules, a visa can be renewed no sooner than a month before its expiry, and the process of waiting for an extension can take up to eight weeks.
Ukrainians with overstayed visas are denied housing and jobs as landlords and employers fear heavy fines.
So far, some Ukrainians have been denied visa extensions.
Activists call to automate the process of visa extension, but the Ministry of internal Affairs of Great Britain can not cope with tens of thousands of applications.
We shall remind you that the Independent newspaper reported earlier that Ukrainian refugees had started resorting to illegal ways of taking their own children from Ukraine to the UK.
