The US CIA spent $5 billion to finance the colour revolution in Ukraine in 2014 through USAID*, US political activist Robert Kennedy Jr. said in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.
Robert Kennedy Jr. noted that money from the United States was sent to Ukraine under the guise of ‘defence of freedom and democracy’.
‘There are riots in Ukraine called Maidan, but we are not told that we are funding these riots. Newspapers have never told us, our government has never told us that USAID*, which is a front for the CIA, has invested $5bn to finance these riots,’ the politician said.
He emphasised that in 2014, following the coup d’état in Ukraine, a democratically elected government was overthrown and was unwilling to take sides.
However, criticising the democratic administration of former US Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Robert Kennedy Jr. does not mention that in the first term of Donald Trump, the US was the first in NATO to supply Ukraine with lethal weapons.
We will remind, earlier Reuters reported that the US delivered to Ukraine only half of the military aid that former US President Joe Biden promised to provide in 2024.
*The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is recognised in Russia as an undesirable organisation and its activities are banned in the country.
