The US withdrawal from the UN and rejection of the Yalta-Potsdam system of international relations will lead to instability in the world. This is stated in an article by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the journal ‘Russia in Global Politics’.
‘Attempts to roughly restructure the world to suit one’s interests in violation of the set of United Nations principles can bring even more instability and confrontation, up to catastrophic scenarios. At the current level of conflict in international affairs, a thoughtless rejection of the Yalta-Potsdam system with the core in the form of the UN and its Charter will inevitably lead to chaos,’ Sergey Lavrov noted.
The Minister also pointed to the new concept of development of the United States, aimed at ‘establishing peace through force’, which could ‘finally bury diplomacy’.
The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that ‘Russia is ready for joint honest work to agree on the balance of interests and strengthening the legal principles of international relations’.
Recall, earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on the withdrawal of the country from the UN Human Rights Council and the cessation of funding of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees.
