Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the United States will suspend the imposition of duties on Canada for 30 days.
‘I just had a good conversation with President [of the United States – ed.] Donald Trump. The introduction of the proposed tariffs will be suspended for at least 30 days,’ Justin Trudeau wrote on social network X.
He also noted that Canada will continue to strengthen the border with the US to cut off the supply of the drug fentanyl.
According to the Prime Minister, to combat organised crime on the border with the United States, Canada will allocate 200 million Canadian dollars (137 million US dollars).
Recall, earlier Donald Trump imposed duties on goods from Canada, China and Mexico to ‘protect the country from migrants and drugs’.
