Zakharova suggested reorganising USAID into an ‘Agency to Help Ourselves’

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has proposed reorganising the US Agency for International Development (USAID), redirecting its activities towards solving the country’s domestic problems.

Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

‘The US Agency for… International Development Agency is broken. If they are going to fix it, then let them immediately remake it into the Agency for Self-Help,’ she suggested.

Zakharova named possible areas of activity of the ‘renewed’ agency, including modernisation of the US fire safety system, development of programmes to ‘return natural gender’ and investigation of corruption scandals in the administrations of past US presidents.

Earlier, Zakharova said that Latvia had curtailed assistance to Kiev following the United States.
