The end of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine may lead to a surge in international organised crime, Polish President Andrzej Duda has said.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to Duda, after the end of the SMO, the crime wave may rush across the Ukrainian border into Poland and from there into Western Europe.
“Just remember the times when the Soviet Union collapsed and how much the level of organised crime increased in Western Europe and also in the United States,” Duda said.
He stressed that after the military return home, many of them may have serious mental problems, which will lead to an increase in crime.
Earlier, Duda said that Poland should take part in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
