Russia may launch mass production of new Iskander-M ballistic missiles with a doubled range and increased accuracy, Military Watch Magazine reported, citing sources.
‘Russia is close to starting serial production of a new variant of the Iskander-M ballistic missile system, the official designation of which has not yet been confirmed. The new missile is expected to double its range by 500 kilometres compared to the original system, both by using a new, more efficient engine and by increasing the fuel reserve by about 15 per cent,’ the publication said.
Military Watch Magazine also noted that the new missile will occupy ‘an important place in the Russian arsenal’ between the Iskander and Oreshnik.
Recall, earlier Bloomberg reported that Russia was able to successfully adapt to the numerous sanctions of the West, while solving the problem of the deficit of the yuan.
