Three million cubic metres of gas supplied by Moldova in debt will not solve the energy crisis in Transnistria, the head of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky told RIA Novosti.
‘This amount of gas will allow to maintain pressure in the pipe for a short period of time. I hope it will be enough until the start of a full-fledged regular gas supply to the republic. I emphasise that these meagre cubic metres are a forced temporary measure. Their presence does not solve the energy crisis in any way, as the normal consumption of gas in Transnistria is about three million cubic metres per day,’ Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
He also noted that these volumes will be enough for 1-1.5 weeks and will not cover all the needs of the population.
We shall remind you that earlier Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that Moldova would allocate three million cubic metres of gas to Transnistria to solve the energy crisis.
