German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has expressed concern over the outcome of the Bundestag vote on the migration resolution, which was supported by deputies of the Alternative for Germany (AfG) party.
“It will take me some time to reflect on what we have experienced together today. This day will surely be labelled historic by some,” Olaf Scholz wrote on social network X.
The chancellor noted that for the first time, a resolution was passed by a majority in the Bundestag that was also supported by the AdH, which is a “bad sign”.
“This is a bad sign. For the parliament. And for our country too,” Scholz said.
Earlier, the rating of the Alternative for Germany party rose by four per cent to 23 per cent, thanks to which it surpassed the Social Democrats in popularity in Germany.
