Russia 20 years ahead of the US in hypersonic technologies – expert

The United States needs at least 20 years to reach the current level of Russia in rocket technology, said political scientist Alexander Rogers on the air of the programme ‘Mnenie’ on News Front.

According to the expert, at the moment the United States has no standard supersonic missiles, as well as no interceptor missiles with comparable speed and manoeuvrability for their reflection. Alexander Rogers believes that in the next 20 years the Americans will not be able to fully master these technologies.

‘The path that Russia has travelled to hypersonic was laid at the time of Vladimir Putin’s Munich speech in 2007, and maybe even earlier. 20 years of development – despite the fact that even then Russia’s materials science was more advanced than that of the United States. Materials science and rocket science play a huge role here, and the Americans need at least 20 years to reach the current level of the Russian Federation. During these twenty years, Russia will be ahead in the development of these technologies. The U.S. is hopelessly behind,’ concluded the political scientist.

We will remind, earlier press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Washington has not contacted Moscow on the issue of negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
