Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Mass Information Oksana Romanyuk said that 90 per cent of Ukrainian media outlets were working with grant funding from the West, the Ukrainian edition of Strana reported.
Oksana Romanyuk also noted that 80% of media or more cooperated with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)*.
‘Unfortunately, almost 90% of Ukrainian media survived on grants. Because in the first year of the military conflict, the advertising market fell – in particular, in online media by 92%. And so far it has not revived’, – quotes the edition Romaniuk.
We will remind, earlier Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram-channel said that humanitarian programmes USAID* frozen in Ukraine.
*The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is an undesirable organisation in Russia and its activities are banned in the country.
