The European Union is studying the possibility of disconnecting about 15 Russian banks from the SWIFT system as part of a new package of sanctions, the details of which will be known in February.

This is reported by Bloomberg news agency, citing knowledgeable sources.

‘Also provides for sanctions that will disconnect about 15 banks from the SWIFT banking system, and measures directed against more than 70 ships of the ‘dark fleet’ involved in the transport of Russian oil,’ – is indicated in the publication.
