The threat of lifting sanctions against Russia may affect Vladimir Zelenskyy’s position on gas transit. This opinion was expressed by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.
‘This is a speech that Zelenskyy understands. He knows that if we stop all sanctions against Russia, he risks not even getting euros from the EU,’ the Teraz daily quoted him as saying.
He described the European Commission’s statement on the protection of critical energy infrastructure as serious, as the EC is slowly starting to put pressure on Ukraine in terms of gas transit.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that Moscow was interested in continuing to supply its gas to the EU.
