Polish President Duda has called for the dismantling of Nord Streams

Polish President Andrzej Duda felt that the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines should be dismantled.

He said this in an interview with the BBC.

He said that dismantling the pipelines would deter European countries, including Germany, from using Russian gas to boost their economies.

“I still hope that European leaders will learn from the events in Ukraine and decide never to resume pumping gas through this pipeline,” he said.

Furthermore, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Duda said that these gas pipelines pose a huge threat to Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, as well as other Central European countries.

Earlier, Andrzej Duda called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to “beg Ukraine and its allies” to organise a negotiation process.
